Summary


The ideal candidate will represent the hotel in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with assigned accounts, such as American Express, Virtuoso, Signature, etc., consistently striving to maximize revenue in rooms, public space, food and beverage and ancillary products and services.


The ability to interact with staff (at all levels), guests, members, and shareholders in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Confidentiality is crucial to this role.


Expert level written and verbal communication skills in English, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are critically important to this position.


Essential Functions


Job duties include, although are not limited to:


  • Develop & maintain strong business relationships with direct clients, travel industry and internal clients.

  • Ability to research new market opportunities and develop strategies to engage in these markets, companies & organizations to produce revenue for the hotel.

  • Travel to meet face to face with existing clients and prospective clients to educate on resort product & experiences that include but is not limited to: sales calls, tradeshows, and industry & community events. Based on market conditions travel will be required.

  • Consistently meets with, welcomes, and entertains clients & guests and conducts property tours in a hospitable and professional manner reflective of a five-star service environment.

  • Attending morning line ups engaging with internal teams to educate our internal clients on resort travel industry accounts and partnerships.

  • Negotiate, draft, and generate proposals, contracts and addendums that ensure both resorts budget and revenue targets are achieved.

  • Solicit business inquiries, leads and qualify business to generate transient room nights.

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined.

  • Assist Director of Leisure Sales in the development of new programs and sales campaigns to obtain additional sales from various market niches.

  • Assist Director of Leisure Sales with the implementation, follow-through and updating of quarterly action plans.

  • All communications and tasks should be completed with the highest level of detail and professionalism including luxury language with polished written and verbal communications.

  • Coordinate amenities, client gift, pre-arrival and courtesy services for on property guests, as assigned.

  • Create positive relationships with other departments to ensure success of all guests and leisure customers.

  • Remain flexible in a demanding, sales focused environment. Welcome new tasks, training and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Express a desire to continually learn and develop oneself.

  • Be a positive contributor to the daily team environment and success of the sales team and overall financial objectives.

  • Provide excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.

  • Participate in daily/weekly sales meetings, revenue management meetings and training.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers.

  • The career path for this position is Senior Sales Manager, Group Sales Manager, Leadership positions in guest relations, Leadership positions in reservations and/or revenue management.

External Relationships


Has regular contact with resort guests and members. Maintains appropriate relationships with these and other constituencies to enhance the image of the Company and the attainment of its objectives.


Qualifications


  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks & projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to manage oneself with the ability to organize & prioritize, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Overcome roadblocks and objections with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Information research, analysis, and evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse operation.
  • Practice the highest level of discretion.

Education/Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree Preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. Experience in the hospitality and/or development industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
